Trek to Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila – 3 Days is one of the short and memorable trekking destinations in India. This trek is for everyone who loves snow, meadows, and greenery in all weather conditions. Chopta, Tungnath, and Chandrashila are on the same trail. Chopta is known as ‘Mini Switzerland’ of India. It is the base point and trek starts for Tungnath and Chandrashila. Chopta is also popular for camping, trekking, survival activity, rock craft, rock climbing, and rappelling, etc. During the trip of Chopta valley, another trek to the nearby region of Deoria Tal but it is in different ways from Chopta. It is also a very famous lake surrounded by beautiful dense forest.
Tungnath is the third temple of Panch Kedar and one of the highest Shiva temples in the world. The literal meaning of Tungnath is Lord of the peaks. The altitude of the Tungnath temple is 3680 m (12073 ft),. This temple builds by Pandavas.
Trek to Chandrashila starts from Tungnath temple which is 1.5 km. The altitude of Chandrashila is 4000m (13000 ft) above sea level. It is popular for 360 panoramic views and it provides a view of Nanda Devi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch, and Chaukhamba peaks.
The meaning of Chandrashila is Moon Rock. According to Hindu Methodology, Lord Rama meditated after defeating the demon king Ravan.
The best season for heavy snow is the end of January to February.

It takes one more day. Deoria Tal is around 14km from Ukhimath via shared cab then 3km trek from Sari village to Deoria Tal.
This trekking destination comes under an easy to a moderate level, but before starting this trip, some important tips must have to know.
- Start the trip in the early morning between 6-8 am because shared cad or bus service for Ukhimath is limited from Rishikesh,
- Always pre-book hotel or camp at Chopta for accommodation, because after reach they demand high price during peak time,
- Local people don’t allow pitching tourist tent,
- The shared cab is also limited during return time, last CAB service till 11 am,
